Earlier this year when James Byrne of the Ecclestone Square Hotel – a luxury boutique hotel in the exclusive area of Belgravia, London – approached us with a mission. He’d heard of our skill when it comes to creating bespoke mirrors to fit customers’ exact specifications and wanted us to re-create some mirrors he’d seen during one of his travels.
The mirrors were very large, with arised edges and a 9inch wide, crushed velvet frame. We of course, never being ones to turn from a challenge, accepted the mission wholeheartedly and worked closely with James to ensure that our finished products met perfectly with his exacting specifications.
With the Ecclestone Square hotel, found behind the doors of an imperious 19th Century, Grade II listed Georgian façade, James was conscious that these mirrors had to look not only contemporary, but fit with the antique-chic of the hotel as well.
We designed and created the mirrors with this in mind, specifically creating and building a new moulding just for him, using solid English wood to build the frame and using a silvery crushed velvet as the finish for the gorgeously sumptuous moulding we had created. Ensuring both style and comfort were present in volumes on the finished articles.
Both we and James were very happy with what we came up with. So much so in fact, that James sent us some pictures to show us just how good they looked once in situ.
If you want us to recreate some mirrors for you, or create some from a design of your own, feel free to give us a call on 0333 800 8181, we’re always happy to help and will work with you to ensure that your design becomes a striking reality.
