The Process
- Customer chosen mirror order is passed to our craftsman.
-
Our quality control team inspect all materials prior to
manufacture ensuring moulding and mirror are free from marks,
cracks, splits, or unintentional blemishes.
-
The actual mirror is made using high quality mirror and goes
through four stages, measuring and cutting the mirror,
polishing, and/or bevelling the mirror, inspection and finally
finishing.
-
The frame is moulded, cut, and pinned and the mirror is placed
into the back of the frame together with the sundry components,
to be assembled with the utmost care and precision.
-
The back is now added to the frame and cosmetically finished.
-
All aspects are now checked and double checked, and a final
quality control inspection made.
-
The lovingly created finished mirrors are then packed ready for
delivery or despatch.
Sizing
Our framing calculator lets you enter the overall size of your
chosen mirror. This is the external size of your mirror including
the frame.
When choosing a bespoke framed mirror, remember that part of the
mirror will be under the rebate of the frame to hold your mirror
in place. This is usually between 7-10mm on each side, (See image
below).
For most people, this would not be noticeable unless specifically
pointed out. For those customers where the visible mirror size is
very important, we recommend that you call our friendly Sales team
on 0333 800 8181 or email them direct at
sales@mirrorworld.co.uk so that one of
team can assist you before manufacturing your mirror.
Frames with Bevelled Mirrors are normally 25mm wide as standard on
glass only mirrors, with framed mirrors the visible bevelled edge
is normally 15 ? 18mm with the remaining edge going under the
rebate of the frame as shown above. If you require a wider
bevelled edge, please feel free to call or email for further
assistance or advice.
