  Mirror Thickness / Gauge
Mirror glass come primarily in two thickness's / gauges, 4mm and 6mm. Whilst both give a beautiful optical reflection it is often deemed necessary to use the thicker glass when the mirror becomes over a certain size, we recommend, should your size go over 1.2m in any dimension then the thicker 6mm glass would be advisable.

  Safety backing ?

In nut shell:
A film of tough plastic that sticks to the back of the mirror. If the mirror breaks then the pieces stay stuck to the film and not all over the floor.

Technically:
A heavy duty polypropylene film with a long ageing acrylic adhesive designed to safety back mirrors to BS 6206.

SPECIAL NOTICE:
Safety backing is not available when requesting adhesive, as the film is stuck to the mirror the adhesive would only stick to the film. However by using adhesive correctly any shattered pieces of glass would remain stuck to the wall.

Acrylic Glass / Stainless Steel Gauge ( Thickness )

Our Superior range of acrylic glass has a superb clarity. Many would not see the difference between our Acrylic mirror and true mirror glass.
However careful consideration must be taken when ordering the gauge of Acrylic glass required.

Whilst 3mm gauge is considered to have good rigidity we recommend the use of 6mm gauge when the sheet size expands beyond 1.2m in any dimension.
The thinner gauge can be used however but careful preparation of an appropriate surface is recommended for best results.

Please do not purchase this product if absolute true reflections are required. free samples of 3 mm and 6 mm acrylic can be supplied on request.

Acrylic mirrors are primarily used in places where safety is the most important issue.

Our Stainless steel option comes from 500mic gauge polished stainless steel. To be used in the most demanding of locations. It is Very Very robust, and even the most determined individual would have great difficulty breaking this mirror surface.

  Colours

Whilst every effort is made to show true representation of colour, colours depicted in the photographs and inferred by description can only be taken as generalisation of colour and not TRUE colour.

The reason for this. Monitors, screens and printers will all show varying shades and hews of the same colour, which will vary from the original.

Should you receive goods and are not happy with the colour, you are entitled to return the goods under our 100% satisfaction guarantee scheme. See terms and conditions
